✈ Tuzla Airport winter 2025/2026

The 2025/26 winter timetable will begin on Sunday, October 26, 2025, and run until March 28, 2026. Throughout this period, passengers will have access to flights to 8 destinations across 5 countries, operated by 3 airlines. From November to March, a total of 892 commercial flights are available, offering 201.024 seats. Starting December 12, Wizz Air will establish a base at Tuzla Airport, with one Airbus A321neo aircraft stationed at the airport. A second A321neo is scheduled to join the Tuzla base in March 2026.

With reopening of Tuzla base the airline will introduce flights to:

• Cologne (CGN)- 3x weekly, begins 12/12/25
• Hamburg (HAM)- 2x weekly, begins 14/12/25
• Maastricht (MST)- 3x weekly, begins 12/12/25
• Malmo (MMX)- 2x weekly, begins 13/12/25

✈ Tuzla Airport Summer Timetable 2025

After months of stagnation, Tuzla Airport is set to welcome new route by Wizz Air.  Starting June 15, Wizz Air will introduce flights between Vienna and Tuzla four times a week. Additionally, the airline is increasing its frequency on the Dortmund and Memmingen routes, with both now being operated daily from June 1. This summer, Tuzla Airport will also see new carriers, including A Jet and Pegasus Airlines, both offering one weekly flight from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Corendon Airlines will replace last year’s Tailwind Airlines, operating charter flights to Antalya.

In comparison to the same period last year, Tuzla Airport will see a significant increase in both the number of flights and seats available. The number of seats offered will rise from 101,880 last year to 246,460 this year, reflecting a remarkable increase of 141.9%, or 144,580 additional seats. The number of flights will rise from 566 last year to 1.316 this year representing an increase of 132,50%, or 750 additional flights.

The Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton Irfan Halilagić has announced that Wizz Air will introduce two new routes by the end of summer—Cologne and Gothenburg. Additionally, Wizz Air will establish a base at Tuzla Airport by the end of summer season, with one aircraft stationed at Tuzla Airport. This new base will allow Wizz Air to operate flights to Cologne, Gothenburg, and Vienna directly from Tuzla, while routes to Basel, Dortmund, and Memmingen will be serviced by aircraft from other Wizz Air bases.

✈ AJet launches Istanbul-Tuzla flights

Türkiye's  airline Ajet, the low-cost subsidiary of Turkish Airlines (THY), launched direct flights from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport to Tuzla International Airport located in northeastern part of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The opening of the new route was marked with a ceremony at Tuzla International Airport, attended by Turkish Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, AJet CEO Kerem Sarp and the local authorities.

The flights are scheduled to operate once per week on Mondays pending an increase in case of rising demand, Sarp said. Speaking at the ceremony, Uraloğlu expressed his believe that "the launch of Istanbul-Tuzla flights will improve relations and trade between the two countries."

Türkiye is known to have strong historical and cultural ties with Bosnia-Herzegovina, and many Turkish companies, from construction and health to banking and financing sectors, are operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Recently, Pegasus Airlines, also launched flights on the same route, with plans to continue expansion on Bosnian market with introduction of flights between Istanbul and Mostar. Uraloğlu, in his speech, recalled the expansion of AJet following the start of its operations under its new name in March this year, noting that since Oct. 1, the carrier introduced seven new routes, adding that Tuzla is the eighth.

He also pointed to Turkish Airlines and Ajet extensive flight network, adding that they aim to further increase the number of points the carriers fly to by the end of the year. "Today, we fly from Türkiye to 347 different points in 131 countries. We will increase this to 349 by the end of the year," he said. For his part, Sarp said that with this flight, they built "another bridge" between Türkiye and Bosnia-Herzegovina, two friendly countries.

He also noted that Ajet carry their passengers to 95 different destinations, with a modernized fleet of 85 aircraft. He added that the new route represents their second line in Bosnia-Herzegovina as they operate seven weekly flights to the capital, Sarajevo.

✈ Lumiwings to open Tuzla base

With today’s signing of the agreement, Tuzla airport and the Greek airline Lumiwings  officially begin their cooperation. The ceremony of signing the agreement and establishing  cooperation was also attended by the delegation of the Government of Tuzla Canton led by  Prime Minister Irfan Halilagić. 

The Government of Tuzla Canton provided 2.5 million Bosnian Marks as a  support for this project, which will see Lumiwings basing one Boeing 737-700 aircraft at Tuzla Airport. Tuzla airport issued a public call for airlines that are interested  and want to establish or renew the flights from Tuzla. In accordance with  the criteria of the public call, the offer of the Lumiwings was declared the most  favorable. With opening of new Lumiwings base, the Tuzla airport, the citizens of the Tuzla Canton, Bosnian Diaspora, as well as all those who used the services of the Tuzla airport in the previous  period, will have flights available again – flights that were cancelled after the Wizz Air abruptly withdrew two aircraft and closed its Tuzla base.

On the occasion of today’s event, the Director of Tuzla International Airport Dževad  Halilčević said: 

“By signing this agreement, we are establishing cooperation with Lumiwings airline, which will base one aircraft at Tuzla International Airport and establish a  significant number of flights that our clients are already used to. Therefore, as of December  18th, 2023, we are re-establishing flights to Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and  Germany, but also for the first time we are commencing flights to Turkey, which has long  been the wish of the citizens of the Tuzla Canton and the wider region”, said the Director Halilčević. 

Manager of the Lumiwings Dimitrios Kremiotis pointed out: 

“It is my pleasure to attend today’s ceremonial event at Tuzla airport and I am so happy that  we have the opportunity to expand the scope of our business through the establishment of a  base at Tuzla airport. In cooperation with our new partner, Tuzla Airport, we announce on  this occasion that the Lumiwings airline will start operations from December 18th, 2023. To  begin with, the establishment of flights to 5 destinations in Europe is planned, as well as the  imminent start of flights to Turkey. Our expectations are that the established flights will be  well received by passengers and that the offered flights will especially arouse the renewed  interest of the Diaspora, as the success of this joint project ultimately largely depends on this.  In order to allow passengers to buy flight tickets for the upcoming winter holidays at the most  favourable prices, starting today we offer flight tickets at prices starting from 75 EUR for  flights from December 18th, 2023. Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton Irfan Halilagić emphasized: 

“Subsidizing flights in order  to maintain affordable ticket prices for citizens is a practice that is present everywhere in the  world, and we are now introducing this practice at Tuzla airport as well.” This year, we  provided 2.5 million Bosnian Marks and with the Tuzla airport we defined a procedure for withdrawing 

these funds from Tuzla Canton budget based on number of tickets sold, In this way, we share business risks with the airline in a certain way,” said Prime  Minister Halilagić. Then, he added that the Government of Tuzla Canton, considering in the  coming period the process of preparing the budget for the next year, will certainly keep this  measure, but also think about possibly increasing the planned funds so that interest of other airlines for opening some new destinations is awaken. Tuzla Airport and its development are  a strategic element and project of the Tuzla Canton and are an indispensable segment of all  strategic documents and development plans in the Tuzla Canton, so as such we must pay  adequate attention to it,” Prime Minister Halilagić concluded.

✈ Aerodrom Tuzla – poceli radovi na izgradnji izlazne kapije broj 3

Danas je na aerodromu Tuzla polozen kamen temeljac za izgradnju “Gate 3”, izlazna kapija broj 3. U budzetu tuzlanskog kantona za 2023. godinu osigurano je 1.880.000 maraka za nastavak ulaganja u razvoj aerodroma. Rok izvodjenja radova je sest mjeseci. U istom period bi se trebao zavrsiti i projekat izgradnje automatizovanog parkinga, kapaciteta 300 vozila.

✈Aerodrom Tuzla-Rekordan broj putnika u decembru

Kroz Međunarodni aerodrom Tuzla tokom mjeseca decembra prošlo je 52.151 putnika, što predstavlja najveći broj opsluženih putnika u ovom zimskom mjesecu odkako je aerodrom počeo sa radom. U poredjenju sa decembrom prošle godine aerodrom bilježi rast putnika od 104% ili 26.665 putnika više. 2022. godinu Aerodrom Tuzla završava sa brojkom od 474.336 putnika, što predstavlja povećanje od 59% ili 175.324 putnika više u odnosu na godinu prije.

Aerodrom Tuzla će ove godine oboriti sve rekorde po broju putnika i otpremljenih aviona, a po završetku dogradnje trećeg odlaznog izlaza, možemo očekivati još jedan bazni avion od strane Wizz Air-a, kao i nove avio linije od strane Ryanair-a. Aerodrom trenutno privodi kraju radove na izgradnji atrija, kao i obnovi i automatizaciji parking prostora. Aerodrom Tuzla planira da opsluži oko 750.000 putnika tokom ove godine.

✈Tuzla Airport: construction photo update

Radovi na gradnji atrija  (prikljucnog objekta na terminal aerodroma) se privode kraju. U novoizgradjeni objekat biti ce smjestene rent a car agencije kao i prodavnica suvenira, koje ce biti izmjestene iz zgrade terminala i tako osloboditi prostor u glavnom holu terminala. Dodatni prostor je itekako potreban za svakodnevne operacije, pogotovo pred ljetnu sezonu kada se ocekuje rekordan broj putnika i zgrada terminala ce biti pretjesna za prijem veceg broja putnika.

✈Tuzla Airport statistics for November 2022

Last month Tuzla  Airport recorded 50.481 passengers, representing an  increase of 133% or 28.881 passengers more when compared to the same month of 2021. Year to date the airport recorded 422.015 passengers, an increase of 54% when compared to the first eleven months of 2021. Passenger numbers are still 23% down when compared to pre-pandemic 2019. Tuzla Airport is expected to overtake 2019. numbers during the next year.

✈ AERODROM TUZLA U 2023 GODINI - PLANOVI I MOGUĆNOSTI

Tokom slijedeće godine aerodrom Tuzla će oboriti rekord po broju opsluženih putnika i aviona. Za sada, tri avio kompanije će imati letove iz Tuzle tokom 2023 godine, dvije redovne (Ryanair I Wizz Air) i jedna čarter (Freebird Airlines). Ukupan broj raspoloživih sjedišta na letovima za i iz Tuzle  tokom slijedeće godine je 903.744 . Sa prosječnom popunjenosti kabine između 80-85%, možemo očekivati da će aerodrom Tuzla slijedeće godine opslužiti 750.000 putnika. Predviđeni broj putnika je zaista fascinantan ali se nameće pitanje, kako će aerodrom sa postojećom infrastukturom to izdržati?

Poslije proširenja same zgrade terminala, koji je kako znamo kasnio par godina, i na kraju sa samim završetkom radova ustanovljeno je da je zgrada premalena i  sa samo dva izlaza za putnike (gate) nije moguće dalje širenje i uspostavljanje novih avio linija, pa je se pristupilo gradnji tzv. atrija koji će omoguciti selidbu rent a car agencija iz samog terminala i oslobađnjanja male količine prostora, kako bi terminal mogao da primi veći broj putnika. Problem, dodatnih izlaza (gate) još nije riješen i još se odugovlači sa raznim tender procedurama!?

I na kraju i da se ima I taj treć izlaz, opet sve je to tako skučeno, premaleno i neadekvatno nekom ozbiljnijem razvoju aerodroma. Nakon napuštanja aviona, dolazi čekanje na pasoškoj kontroli i redovi po kiši, snijegu itd… koji idu od  izlaska iz aviona pa do zgrade terminala , jer prostor pri pasoškoj kontroli je dovoljan za nekih 50 ljudi, a kad slete dva aviona istovremeno tu je oko 350 ljudi!?

Nažalost, cijeli razvoj aerodroma Tuzla je bez ikakve vizije, stručnih analiza i master plana o razvoju. Aerodrom se približva da ima brojku od jedan million putnika za par godina, a postojeća infrastruktura aerodroma može da prima i opsluži oko 400.000 putnika. Aerodrom i dalje nema prilazna svjetla iako se na tome “radi” zadnjih 5 godina, parking aerodroma je jedna ogromna sramota. Popratne usluge aerodroma skoro da i ne postoje, a mogucnosti zarade su velike ako bih se imala vizija i iskren plan za razvoj aerodroma.

Nužno i neophodno za razvoj aerodroma (u vrlo kratkom roku):

• Prilazna svjetla i nadogradnja ILS-a
• Parking (uređivanje i automatizacija) da bih se iskoristio potencijal za zaradu
• Restoran, kafe bar u glavnom holu aerodroma
• Restoran, kafe bar nakon pasoške kontrole prije ukrcavanja
• Izgradnja i spajanje rulnih staza
• Izgradnja objekta za prijem i otpremu tereta (cargo)
• Prosirenje platforme (apron)
• Produžetak piste sa 2.500 na 3.000 metara da bih se aerodrom mogao koristiti kao alternativa aerodromu Sarajevo za vrijeme vremenskih neprilika
• Prilazne saobraćajnice ka aerodromu

• Za razvoj aerodroma neophodna je nova, znatno veća zgrada terminala (jednostavna konstrukcija, sa adekvativnim prostorom) koji će zadovoljiti potrebe i razvoj aerodroma u narednih 10 godina.

✈Tuzla Airport statistics for November 2021

Last month Tuzla Airport recorded 21.600 passengers, representing an increase of 127% when compared to the same month of 2020. The airport was 39% (or 13.884 passengers) down compared to pre-pandemic November in 2019. The January-November period airport handled 273.526 passengers, representing an increase of 27% when compared to the same time of the last year. Passenger’s traffic is 50% down compared to record 2019 when Tuzla Airport handled 593.083 passengers.

Last month Tuzla Airport recorded 32.960 passengers using the airport, representing an increase of 69% when compared to the same month of the last year. When compared to pre-pandemic traffic (September of 2019) the airport was 41% down for the month, and 53% down for the year. This year Tuzla Airport is excepting to handle 300.000 passengers.  

✈ Wizz Air announces Tuzla expansion!

Wizz Air has announced two new routes from Tuzla International Airport from December. Milan-Malpensa  in Itay and Nuremberg in Germany, with two weekly flights each. Both routes will be operated by the aircraft that are not Tuzla based. The airline also plans to increase Tuzla operations in upcoming winter season with additional flights to Basel, Friedrichshafen, Gothenburg, Malmo, Vaxjo and Vienna.

✈ Tuzla Airport to start atrium construction

Given that all administrative procedures have been completed, the construction of the atrium at Tuzla International Airport has been given green light. The conceptual design of the atrium was completed much earlier, but construction was postponed many times  due to the local government delaying  the issuance of building permit.

During this month, the airport will begin construction of the atrium that will be adjoined to the terminal building. New building will have a size of 900 square meters and will house offices for rent-a-car agencies and tour operators, as well as a gift shop. Total price tag for construction of the atrium is 1,5 million Bosnian Marks or 766.000 Euros.

In the next few days, the contractor will be introduced to the plateau of the future construction site, which is in the immediate vicinity of the passenger terminal building. This space is currently used as a parking space.

Construction will further increase terminal capacity, which was reconstructed and expanded last year. Construction of the new building should last four months. According to Tuzla Airport director Esed Mujacic,  realization of several other projects will begin this year.

"We are completing another public call for a fire protection project, the implementation of which should begin soon. We also planned reconstruction of the parking lot with fully automated car parking systems. Currently we are waiting for the consent of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Ministry of Defense, given that they own the land that is planned to be used for the parking lot." Said  Mujacic.
