✈Tuzla Airport anticipate to handle 800.000 passengers

Tuzla International Airport is positioning itself for a record-breaking year in both flight operations and passenger numbers. The establishment of a Wizz Air base at the airport, featuring two Airbus A321neo aircraft configured with high-density seating (239 seats), puts Tuzla on track to surpass all previous performance records. For 2026, Tuzla Airport has 1.030.752 seats on offer, and my analysis projects approximately 800,000 passengers by year-end.

Wizz Air has published its 2026 operating schedule, comprising a total of 4.056 flights and offering 969.384 seats. The airline will operate 14 routes from Tuzla, of which two, Gothenburg (GOT) in Sweden and Larnaca (LCA) in Cyprus, will be seasonal summer services. In addition to Wizz Air, Tuzla International Airport will continue to benefit from year-round connectivity to Istanbul (SAW) through services operated by A Jet and Pegasus Airlines.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Further strengthening the airport’s network, Chair Airlines will introduce seasonal flights between Zurich and Tuzla, operating from June through October, with the possibility of extending services into the winter season subject to market demand. Charter operations will also play a significant role, with Air Cairo and Nile Air providing regular charter services to Hurghada (HRG) in Egypt, while Corendon Airlines and Free Bird Airlines will operate charter flights to Antalya (AYT) in Turkiye.

With an expanding portfolio of scheduled and charter services, Tuzla International Airport is reinforcing its role as a key regional low-cost airport, serving passengers from across Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as parts of neighboring Croatia and Serbia.

✈ Tuzla Airport Summer Timetable 2025

After months of stagnation, Tuzla Airport is set to welcome new route by Wizz Air.  Starting June 15, Wizz Air will introduce flights between Vienna and Tuzla four times a week. Additionally, the airline is increasing its frequency on the Dortmund and Memmingen routes, with both now being operated daily from June 1. This summer, Tuzla Airport will also see new carriers, including A Jet and Pegasus Airlines, both offering one weekly flight from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Corendon Airlines will replace last year’s Tailwind Airlines, operating charter flights to Antalya.

In comparison to the same period last year, Tuzla Airport will see a significant increase in both the number of flights and seats available. The number of seats offered will rise from 101,880 last year to 246,460 this year, reflecting a remarkable increase of 141.9%, or 144,580 additional seats. The number of flights will rise from 566 last year to 1.316 this year representing an increase of 132,50%, or 750 additional flights.

The Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton Irfan Halilagić has announced that Wizz Air will introduce two new routes by the end of summer—Cologne and Gothenburg. Additionally, Wizz Air will establish a base at Tuzla Airport by the end of summer season, with one aircraft stationed at Tuzla Airport. This new base will allow Wizz Air to operate flights to Cologne, Gothenburg, and Vienna directly from Tuzla, while routes to Basel, Dortmund, and Memmingen will be serviced by aircraft from other Wizz Air bases.

✈Airlines are increasing Sarajevo operations!

Due to the high demand for flights to Sarajevo, many airlines are adding additional flights and increasing capacity during summer period. Turkish Airlines on most of its flights is using largest narrow-body jet in its fleet, Airbus 321 with 180 seats. Newcomer to Sarajevo Airport Wataniya Airways is recording great bookings on its service from Kuwait City. The airline is adding additional flights on every Tuesday from July 25 to September 05th. Air Arabia will operate additional flights to Sharjah, up to two daily flights on selected days. This summer charter flights to Antalya are seeing strong demand too, during month of August Sarajevo will be connected to Antalya with 4 weekly flights by Turkish Airlines and 2 weekly flights by Tailwind Airlines and one weekly by Corendon Airlines, for a total of seven weekly flights to Turkish resort city. Hajj pilgrimage charters from Sarajevo to Medina are planned for August 17, 18, 19 and 20th. Returning flights are from Jeddah to Sarajevo, scheduled for September 07, 08, 09 and 10th. All these additional flights will add large number of passengers for Sarajevo Airport in upcoming months. Record number of passengers are projected for July with 125.000 passengers, August 127.000 passengers and September 105.000 passengers. Sarajevo Airport will record best year since opening its doors on 2nd of June 1969, it is estimated that airport will end this year with 910.000 passengers. One million mark in one year should be reached in 2018.
