✈ 1Q data for Sarajevo - Girona flights

Ryanair recently marked the first anniversary of its flights between Sarajevo and Girona. During the first quarter of 2026, the Sarajevo–Girona route recorded 7.895 passengers across 52 flights, achieving an average load factor of 80%, or approximately 152 passengers per flight.

The airline commenced its scheduled service between Girona Airport (GRO) and Sarajevo International Airport (SJJ) on April 2, 2025. Operated twice weekly with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the route demonstrated strong performance during its inaugural year (from April 2 to December 31, 2025), transporting 28.171 passengers and recording an average load factor of 84%.

✈Dolazi li Ryanair u Sarajevo?

 

Aerodrom Sarajevo je raspisao javni poziv avio kompanijama za uspostavljanje baze na aerodromu, s obzirom da će se popusti davati kopanijama po broju prevezenih putnika, možemo sa sigurnošću reći da se radi o niskobudžetnim avio prijevoznicima. S obzirom da je Wizz Air odlučio da se povuče sa aerodroma Sarajevo, iako je ove godine prevezao oko 400.000 putnika za i iz Sarajeva, nije upitno da je potencijal aerodroma veliki za niskobudžetne avio  kompanije, ali Wizz Air je zbog sopstvenih financijskih problema odlučio da se preusmjeri na letove u svojoj bazi u Tuzli (Wizz Air je tokom ove godine zatvorio 9 od ukupno 43 baze širom Europe).

Mogućnost dolaska Ryanair-a je izuzetno velika s obzirom da je ta avio kompanija najveća u Europi i posjeduje sve mogućnosti u ovom momentu da otvori bazu na sarajevskom aerodromu. Mnoge avio kompanije i dalje imaju izuzetne financijske probleme izazvane pandemijom ali Ryanair je u jako povoljnoj financijskoj poziciji i posjeduje sve mogućnosti daljnjeg širenja. S obzirom da je Ryanair već prisutan u Bosni i Hercegovini sa letovima u Banjaluci i od početka novembra i sa letovima ka Tuzli, kompanija već ima uvid u naše tržište. Interesantna je činjenica da je Ryanair već objavio red letenja i pustio u prodaju karte za ljetni red letenja 2023. godine, ali letovi za Banjluku su nedostupni, dok su letovi za Tuzlu u prodaji. Da li je ovo neka naznaka da je već odluka tu, da će Ryanair početi sa letovima iz Sarajeva!?

Ryanair je otvaranjem baze u Zagrebu napravio sam sebi konkurenciju  na letovima iz Banjaluke, zbog blizine ova dva grada i povezanosti Zagreba i Banjaluke auto putem. S otvaranjem Ryanairove baze u Zagrebu Wizz Air je dobio šansu za širenje u Banjaluci, a hoće li je iskoristiti to ćemo tek vidjeti.

Po mojoj procjeni jako je izvjesno da će Ryanair od aprila početi sa letovima iz Sarajeva i s obzirom da Ryanair ima puno veću mrežu letova po Europi, prednost Ryanair-a za aerodrom Sarajevo je puno veća od Wizzair-a. Ukoliko se ostvari moja procjena, Ryanair bi u početku uspostavio bazu sa dva aviona (Boeing 737-800), ovaj avion ima kapacitiet od 189 sjedišta. Kompanija bi širila svoje prisustvo na aerodromu sa dodatkom po jednog aviona svake godine. Moje procjene su da postoji tržište da kompanija ima bazu od 4 aviona u narednih 5 godina i dostigne brojku od million putnika na godišnjem nivou.

Lista destinacija koje bi bile uspostostavljene u početku sa dva aviona (April 2023 godine):

Sa ovim redom letenja kompanija bih imala 40 sedmičnih letova, u prosjeku 6 dnevni polazaka svakog dana. Sa ovim brojem polazaka kompanija bih imala na raspolaganju 15.120 sjedišta svake sedmice ili 2.160 raspoloživih sjedišta na dnevnoj bazi. Godišnji broj raspoloživih sjedišta sa gore navedenim redom letenja bi bio oko 700.000 sjedišta. Uzimajući u obzir da Ryaniar-ova prosječna popunjenost kabine je oko 90%, znači da bi aerodrom Sarajevo dobio oko 630.000 putnika na godišnjem nivou.

✈Sarajevo-Antalya charter flights for Summer 2022

 


Fibula travel agency is selling charter flights from Sarajevo to Antalya starting May 03, 2022. The flights will operate by Anadolujet with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays until June 10. From June 11 to September 04 flights will operate daily. From September 06 to September 23 flights will operate 3x weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Anadolujet will operate a total of 212 round-trip flights, offering 38.160 seats between Sarajevo and Antalya. The airline will be offering flights for sale on its website as it did last summer.

✈ Anadolujet launches Istanbul-Sarajevo flights


First AnadoluJet aircraft on the new Istanbul-Sarajevo-Istanbul route landed at Sarajevo International Airport today with a traditional water salute organized on the occasion.AnadoluJet operates as part of Turkish Airlines, and as of today it has started flights to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport, which is located on the Asian side of Istanbul.

AnadoluJet will connect Sarajevo and Istanbul three times a week: on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft offering 189 seats. Departure time from Sarajevo  is 14:50 local time.

From today AnadoluJet has a special promotion of return tickets on the new established route Sarajevo-Istanbul-Sarajevo starting 59.00 EUR. This special offer will last until March 31, 2021.

In addition to Istanbul, the company plans to introduce flights to the Turkish resort towns Antalya and Bodrum on turkish coast.Flights from Antalya will start om May 19. with three times a week, increasing to daily from June 29. Flights from Bodrum to Sarajevo will start on June 07. Operating twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.

✈ Anadolujet to start Antalya and Bodrum – Sarajevo flights

Anadolujet  is increasing its presence at Sarajevo International Airport with addition of two more destinations in Turkey, Antalya and Bodrum. Last month the airline announced flights between Istanbul (SAW) and Sarajevo. Antalya flights will start on May 19 with two times per week (Wednesday, and Friday), increasing to daily from June 29. Bodrum flights will start on June 07, operating twice a week (Monday and Friday). In upcoming summer season  Anadolujet will operate 12 weekly flights from Sarajevo to Turkey (Antalya 7x, Istanbul 3x and Bodrum 2x. All flights will operate with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

✈ Norwegian Air to resume Sarajevo flights!

 


Norwegian Air is resuming flights from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Sarajevo on December 19. 2020. after 9 months break due to the Coronavirus pandemic. 

During the summer of 2019 Norwegian Air operated flights from Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen and Gothenburg to Sarajevo. The airline plans to resume summer seasonal flights from all four Scandinavian destinations if the coronavirus pandemic is under control without border closures and entry restrictions.

✈Banja Luka Airport Winter 2020-21

➤With the beginning of Winter timetable on Sunday October 25, Banja Luka Airport will see major flight reductions when compared to the same time of the last year. Air Serbia will operate two weekly flights from Belgrade while Ryanair will scale back its operations to Banja Luka from last year’s 5 destinations to only one this coming winter season. 

Single destination Ryanair plans to operate to Banja Luka during upcoming winter timetable is new two weekly service from Gothenburg, beginning October 25.2020. 

Ryanair will delay the launch of new flights from Vienna to Banja Luka until March 29, while its planned new route from Milan-Bergamo has been cancelled altogether.

Ryanair is pushing back the resumption of most of its flights to Banja Luka until spring of 2021.

Following routes are suspended until Summer timetable 2021. (changes to the schedules are likely possible due to uncertainty with coronavirus pandemic and borders opening and closing on short notice).

✈Sarajevo-Amsterdam rescue flight on April 9th!



Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs is organizing a rescue flight for its citizens On Thursday April 9, 2020. a flight will take place from Sarajevo to Amsterdam. The stranded Dutch people in Bosnia and Herzegovina wishing to return to the Netherlands can signed up on the government’s  website for Special Assistance Buitenland (www.bijzonderebijstandbuitenland.nl). 
The cost of the journey is EUR 300 per passenger. You need a valid travel document.

Flight will be operated by TUI fly Netherlands with Boeing 737-800 aircraft

✈Ryanair postponed the launch of Vienna-Banja Luka flights



Ryanair has postponed the launch of Vienna-Banja Luka flights to May. Originally flights were scheduled to be inaugurated on March 30, but due to corona virus outbreak the airline had to postpone the launch for May 1st. Flights are scheduled to operate by Lauda Air.

✈ Ryanair to launch Milan Bergamo-Banja Luka flights!


Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (13 Feb 2020.) announced a new Banja Luka route to Milan Bergamo Airport  in Italy, with a twice weekly service commencing in October 2020, as part of Ryanair’s Banja Luka Winter 2020 schedule. Flights will operate by Ryanair’s subsidiary airline Malta Air.

✈ Banja Luka-Memmingen air traffic statistics

For the first eight months of the year Ryanair has transported a total of 26.460 passengers between Memmingen and Banja Luka. The airline operated 140 flights, offering 26.460 seats with an average cabin load factor of 83,07%.

Ryanair started Memmingen-Banja Luka flights on 30.10.2018. with two weekly flights.

✈Norwegian launches Göteborg-Sarajevo flights



Norwegian Air Shuttle has introduced flights between capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Gothenburg in Sweden. Flights now operate once a week, every Friday, until 09.08.2019. This is Norwegian’s fourth destination from Sarajevo, in addition to Stockholm, which can be flown throughout the year, the airline offers summer seasonal flights to Oslo in Norway and Copenhagen in Denmark.


The introduction of flights from Gothenburg is very important for citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina who live and work in Scandinavia, and for growing number of tourists from this part of the world visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina.

✈Flydubai to launch Sarajevo-Podgorica flights!


Dubai-based airline flydubai has announced the start of flights to Montenegro’s capital Podgorica, which will begin on 01 November. With two flights a week, the flights include a stopover in Sarajevo, a popular destination on the flydubai network. Podgorica joins the airlines network in Central and Eastern Europe, which includes Belgrade, Bratislava, Bucharest, Prague, Skopje, Sarajevo and Sofia. flydubai will become the only UAE-based carrier to offer direct air links to Podgorica.

“With the launch of this new route, flydubai will become the first airline to offer regular services between Podgorica and Sarajevo,” said Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President Commercial (UAE, EU, ME, CIS) at flydubai. “We look forward to the new opportunities that this will provide along with the flows of trade and tourism that these flights can offer.”

✈ Flydubai is increasing Dubai-Sarajevo flights to 12 weekly!

From June 23. to September 17. 2017. Flydubai will introduce 5 additional weekly flights between Dubai and Sarajevo. With this addition Flydubai will operate a total of 12 weekly flights between Dubai and Sarajevo. Dubai based airline will offer total of 4.176 seats weekly between two cities. From June 23rd together with Air Arabia's daily flights from Sharjah, United Arab Emirates will be served with 19 weekly flights from Sarajevo.

✈Brussels Charleroi-Sarajevo flights established!

03/31/2017 CRL-SJJ first flight TB5991, Boeing 737-800 ,OO-JEF

TUIfly Belgium, has established flights between Sarajevo and Brussels Charleroi airport. As of today flights will operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, with a mix of Boeing 737-800 and a Boeing 737-700 aircraft with 189 and 149 seats.
On today’s inaugural flight from Brussels Charleroi airport, hundred passengers arrived at Sarajevo airport, confirming great interest for the flights. TUIfly Belgium originally planned to operate flights on summer seasonal basis but most likely flights will continue in winter as well.

✈Turkish Airlines charter flights Sarajevo-Antalya

In upcoming summer season, travel agencies from Bosnia and Herzegovina will offer tourist packages to Turkish Riviera resorts with direct charter flights from Sarajevo and Tuzla to Antalya. Flights from Sarajevo will be operated by Turkish Airlines and Bora jet, while flights from Tuzla Airport will be operated by Free Bird Airlines. Total of 37 round-trip flights will be operated by Turkish Airlines using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering total of 12.210 seats in both directions.
