✈ Reconfiguration of baggage claim area at Sarajevo Int. Airport

Sarajevo International Airport has open the tender procedure for reconfiguration of baggage claim area with installation of two new baggage carousels.When completed new baggage carousels will have larger capacity and make optimal use of space. Price tag of the project is 120.000 Bosnian Marks (around € 60.000).

✈ International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina






From February 11 to 18 2016, experts from International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) will pay an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.The purpose of the visit is to carry out surveillance in the field of civil aviation security. 
During supervision visit ICAO experts will be assessing the degree of fulfillment of obligations of Chicago Convention by Bosnia and Herzegovina Civil Aviation Authorities, aviation security system of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the degree of compliance with Annex 17 of ICAO. Also, special attention will be paid to the legislation on the national level regarding the safety of civil aviation.

Supervised visit will cover following institutions:

Directorate of Civil Aviation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHDCA)

Sarajevo International Airport (SJJ),-operational aspects of civil aviation safety will be observed at the airport.

Agency for Identification Documents Register and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA) -procedure for submitting the application and issuance of travel documents and border police. Supervision and check or the application of ICAO Annex 9 and Document 9303 - Machine-readable documents.

✈High interest for Air Arabia flights to Sarajevo


Due to high demand, Air Arabia is starting flights to Sarajevo earlier then announced.Flights will start on March 18th. Air Arabia will fly twice daily between Sharjah and Sarajevo on March 25th and 27th, April 1st and 3rd. With Flydubai flights to Dubai International Airport, on some days Sarajevo will be connected to United Arab Emirates with 3 daily flights.

✈Sarajevo International Airport Statistics for January 2016


Sarajevo International Airport has recorded decline in passengers handled during first month of the year. Low visibility and fog contributed to flight cancellations and diversion to other airports. In December 2015. airport had over 30% of flights cancelled due to weather conditions.Number of passengers should improve in coming months with Flydubai adding more flights to Dubai and improved weather conditions. Sarajevo Airport records high number of passengers from May to October and this year trend will continue with new flights to Sharjah in United Arab Emirates with Air Arabia.Pegasus Airlines is increasing flights to Sarajevo from March 27. from its hub Sabiha Gokcen Airport in Istanbul. Flights will be operated 9 times a week until July when the number of flights will increase to 10 weekly.

✈Air Arabia is launching flights to Sarajevo

Low cost airline Air Arabia is launching flights from its hub in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates to Sarajevo on March 20. 2016. with 3 weekly flights, increasing  to 6 weekly during peak season August-September. Air Arabia is the second airline from United Arab Emirates to run flights to Sarajevo, with Flydubai maintaining daily service to Sarajevo in summer season.
