Once again, Sarajevo International Airport has recorded record traffic during last month.
The airport handled 118.350 passengers, making it the best month for the
airport in terms of passengers handled. Compared to the same month last year when airport handled 101.307, airport recorded 16,82% increase or 17.043 passengers more. This is
only the third time in history of the airport that over 100.000 passengers pass through
airport doors in one month. Next month the airport is also expected to record
over 100.000 passengers. Great increase of passengers is coming mostly from
Flydubai double daily flights to Dubai and Air Arabia daily flights to Sharjah
which will continue until mid-October. Flights from United Arab Emirates are catering
to large groups of tourist from Gulf countries and trend is expected to continue in 2017. Qatar
Airways is set to start flights from Doha to Sarajevo in March of 2017 with 3
weekly flights at the beginning of operations.
