✈ Zagreb Airport statistics

In coming days I will be posting statistics from the airports in the neighboring countries. Due to very close proximity, and very often, better pricing of the airfares from the airports in the neighboring countries, great majority of people from Bosnia and Herzegovina are using the airports in the neighboring countries.

✈ Croatia Airlines performance at Sarajevo Int. Airport in 2015.

Last year Croatia Airlines transported 59.497 passengers on 1.282 flights between Zagreb and Sarajevo. Croatia Airlines was first airline to start scheduled flights to Sarajevo after aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina in summer of 1996. The airline operated flights with a mix of ATR-42 and Airbus 319 aircraft until 2009 when Bombardier Dash 8-400Q joined the fleet and since than this type is used on flights to Sarajevo.

✈ Vienna Airport statistic for airports: Sarajevo, Zagreb, Skopje and Belgrade

Vienna as a city and its airport is one of the most popular destination from the countries in the region. Austria has strong influence and ties to the region. According to the last census data 5,1 % of total Austria’s population is born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia and Macedonia. Precisely 155.050 people are from Bosnia and Herzegovina, 132.553 from Serbia, 39.782 from Croatia, 22.430 from Macedonia, 19.663 from Slovenia. Data is not available for Kosovo and Montenegro. Vienna Airport is well connected to the airports in the region with Austrian Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Adria Airways and Air Serbia offering smooth and easy connection to destinations across European continent, United States of America, Canada and many other destinations in the world. Table below is showing number of passengers, flight and available seats from and to Vienna to Sarajevo, Zagreb, Skopje and Belgrade airports. Full data is available for the year 2014 and first ten months of the year 2015(monthly report).

✈Croatia Airlines half yearly report for Sarajevo-Zagreb flights

Croatia Airlines handled 29.325 passengers on Zagreb-Sarajevo-Zagreb route during the first half of 2015, an increase of 2,43% or 697 passengers more compared to the same period of the last year. Number of flights increased from 623 in the first half of 2014. to 655 in the first half of 2015. representing an increase of 5,13% or 32 flights more. Average cabin load factor stood at 58,34% or 45 passengers per flight. Tables below are  showing Croatia Airlines performance at Sarajevo International Airport for the first six months of 2015. and whole year of 2014.

✈Sarajevo Airport freight and mail air transport statistics for 2014.

In addition to regular scheduled airlines with flights to Sarajevo offering cargo service, there are also three cargo airlines: Bosnian Icar air, Slovenian Solin air, Croatian Trade air. Main cargo destinations from Sarajevo offered by above named airlines are: Ancona in Italy, Ljubljana in Slovenia, Zagreb in Croatia and Belgrade in Serbia. In 2014. Sarajevo Airport handled  total of 2.060 tonnes of cargo and 400 tones of mail. 
1.522 tonnes of cargo was unloaded and 538 tonnes loaded.
321 tonnes of mail was unloaded and 79 tonnes loaded.
