✈Tuzla Winter 2019-20

Winter timetable for Tuzla Airport won’t bring any major changes when compared to the same time last year. Wizz Air is still only airline operating at the airport.

With the beginning of winter timetable Wizzair is discontinuing its two weekly Vienna flights, but same time is extending Billund to year-round operations. All other flights will remain the same as last winter season.

Due to very incompetent people leading the airport, major airport projects are still not completed and are overdue by one year and longer. Terminal building is still not finished and for the airport that handles around half a million passengers a year its almost impossible to imagine that airport still doesn’t have luggage belts (instead, luggage is still carried manually from the airplanes to the customers at arriving hall)!?

The other major issue is constant delayed installation of landing lights (the airport director Rifat Karahasanovic is well know in Bosnian media for giving staged interviews presenting him self as a “big boss” and constantly giving false information about the airports future and ongoing projects). Transparency and responsibility are strange subjects for majority of Bosnian public companies and employees including the Governments on all levels  when only qualification for the job is being loyal to the ruling party where corruption and nepotism is a norm.

✈Tuzla Airport statistics for June 2019

Tuzla Airport has recorded 11% passenger growth in June or an increase of 5.918 passengers compared to the same month of the last year. Year to date airport recorded 271.006 passengers, representing decrease of 1,5% or 4.363 passengers less. During the month of July, the airport should be able to add additional 10.000 passengers, recovering from the negative numbers from the beginning of the year. Second half of the year airport should record a growth of 5%. In winter timetable of flights Billund will stay at two weekly flights, compared to last year when the destination was downgraded to summer seasonal. With addition of Billund to winter schedule the airport will definitely go over 600.000 passengers for this year.

✈Wizz Air to downsize Tuzla winter operations

Wizz Air will downsize its winter operations out of Tuzla by turning its services from the city airport to: Billund, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, Stockholm-Skavsta and Vaxjo , to seasonal summer flights only. Each destination was served twice weekly. Last year the airline discontinued flights to London-Luton (after operating for one year) and Nuremberg (after operating for only one summer season). In the past Wizz Air operated flights from Tuzla to Oslo Sandefjord airport and Bratislava.
