✈Sarajevo Airport schedule for December 2021

Next month Sarajevo International Airport is expecting to reach passenger numbers of pre-pandemic traffic of December 2019. Total of 13 airlines will serve the airport with 29 routes across Europe,  Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and United Arab Emirates.

Wizz Air will station second Airbus 320 at the airport, introducing seven new routes from Bosnian capital to: Billund, Cologne, Frankfurt-Hahn, Hamburg, Malmo, Oslo-Sandefjord and Venice-Treviso. With the fleet of two Airbus 320 aircraft based at the airport, Wizz Air will position itself as Sarajevo Airport busiest airline, offering  46.620 seats on 254 flights to seventeen destinations during December.

Also, next month Flydubai will be boosting its flight offerings from Dubai to 58 flights with 10.092 seats on sale. Swiss International Airlines will increase its service from Zurich from 16 flights in November to 26 in December, boosting its seats offering to 3.250 seats.

The city with the most frequencies out of Sarajevo is Istanbul with 20 weekly flights, followed by Vienna with 13 weekly flights. Countries with largest number of seat offers from Sarajevo are Turkey, Germany, United Arab Emirates, Austria and Sweden.

With Flynas, Gulf Air and Swiss International Airlines extending its flight operating during winter months Sarajevo Airport  is on the right track to reach 2019 numbers next year, when airport handled record number of 1.143.680 passengers. According to  Eurocontrol projections, majority of European airports are expected to reach pre-pandemic (2019) numbers in the year 2025, while Sarajevo Airport will reach 2019. numbers in upcoming year 2022.

During the month of December, the airlines operating at Sarajevo Airport have scheduled 858 flights, with 127.546 seats on sale. The airport is expecting to handle 75.000 passengers in December.

✈Gulf Air to operate Sarajevo flights during winter

Gulf Air will reintroduce two weekly flights from Bahrain International Airport (Manama) to Sarajevo on December 15, 2021. The flights are scheduled as regular charters and will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays with Airbus 320neo aircraft. The airline initially started Sarajevo flights in June of this year, as summer seasonal, but due to increased demand for tourist visits from Bahrain to Bosnia, Gulf Air will now operate flights as year-round.

Last week Flynas has decided to upgrade its Sarajevo service to year-round from both Riyadh and Jeddah. During spring and summer months Bosnia and Herzegovina is very popular tourist destination from countries in the Gulf region, but due to opening of many new hotels and resorts, and promotion of the country as  year-round destination,  the airlines are seeing very strong demands and upgrading seasonal flights to year-round. With the introduction of extra flights from Gulf countries, Sarajevo Airport will start reaching  pre-pandemic passenger numbers in December.

This winter season Sarajevo will be connected with following destinations in Gulf region:

• Abu Dhabi – Wizz Air 2x weekly
• Dubai – Flydubai 4x weekly (two daily 24.12.21.-08.01.22.)
• Flynas – Jeddah 2x weekly
• Flynas – Riyadh 3x weekly
• Gulf Air – Manama 2x weekly

For upcoming summers season 2022. Air Arabia has already scheduled Sharjah-Sarajevo flights resumption three months earlier than usual. The service is scheduled to resume on March 30, 2022. with three weekly flights, increasing to daily from July.

✈Sarajevo Airport statistics for October 2021

Last month Sarajevo Airport recorded 84.462 passengers, representing an increase of 294% when compared to the same month of 2020. The airport was only 11% (or 11.166 passengers) down compared to pre-pandemic October in 2019. The January-October period airport handled 634.945 passengers, representing an increase of 187% when compared to the same time of the last year. Passenger’s traffic is 37% down compared to record 2019 when Sarajevo Airport handled 1.143.680 passengers.

✈ Flynas upgrade Riyadh and Jeddah – Sarajevo service to year-round!

Due to very successful summer season Flynas has upgraded its summer seasonal service between Riyadh, Jeddah and Sarajevo to year-round operations. During winter timetable, Flynas will operate three weekly flights between Riyadh and Sarajevo, and two weekly flights between Jeddah and Sarajevo. Riyadh-Sarajevo flights will operate via Tirana.

✈ Ryanair and Wizz Air Banja Luka winter timetable

Banja Luka International Airport will see its busiest winter ever. With two European largest low-cost airlines serving airport with 13 destinations across European continent. Ryanair will serve seven destinations, operating a total of 562 flights (244 arriving and 244 departing), offering 106.218 seats. Ryanair most frequent routes from Banja Luka during upcoming winter season are Gothenburg, Frankfurt-Hahn and Vienna.

✈ Wizz Air Tuzla winter timetable

Wizz Air will introduce two new routes from Tuzla Airport from December 17, 2021. Bringing total number of routes from Tuzla to 17. During winter timetable the airline has scheduled 1.344 flights (672 departing and 672 arriving ), offering 241.920 seats. The route with most flights is Malmo, followed by Dortmund and Basel.

✈ Wizz Air Sarajevo winter timetable

Wizz Air will base its second Airbus A320 at Sarajevo Airport from December 14, 2021. and introduce seven new destinations from the city. During winter timetable the airline has scheduled 1.388 flights (694 departing and 694 arriving ), offering 249.840 seats. The route with most flights is Dortmund, followed by Memmingen and Gothenburg.

Detailed air traffic statistics from Tuzla Airport  for five destinations in Germany, Switzerland, and Sweden. Currently data is available for five destination airports with more data to be available soon covering the rest of destinations from Tuzla. During the year 2020, number of passengers decreased by 55% when compared to pre-pandemic traffic in 2019.

✈Tuzla Airport statistics for September 2021

Last month Tuzla Airport recorded 32.960 passengers using the airport, representing an increase of 69% when compared to the same month of the last year. When compared to pre-pandemic traffic (September of 2019) the airport was 41% down for the month, and 53% down for the year. This year Tuzla Airport is excepting to handle 300.000 passengers.  

✈ Norwegian to reintroduce Copenhagen and Oslo flights from Sarajevo

Norwegian plans to reintroduce Oslo and Copenhagen beginning March 2022. The airline took a pause  for financial consolidation with majority of its flights to the Balkans not operating this year. After the Covid pause, Norwegian reintroduced Stockholm-Sarajevo flights in June of this year while its summer seasonal services from Oslo and Copenhagen were postponed. The airline plans to reintroduce Oslo-Sarajevo flights on June 17, 2022. while Copenhagen-Sarajevo flights will be reintroduced on June 28, 2022. Norwegian plans to operate a total of 7 round-trip flights from Copenhagen, 17 round-trip flights from Oslo and 34 round-trip flights from Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

✈ Swiss International Air Lines upgrade Zurich-Sarajevo service

Due to very successful summer season Swiss International Air Lines has upgraded its summer seasonal service between Zurich and Sarajevo to year-round operations. The airline initially scheduled two weekly flights at the beginning of summer season, increasing it to five flights per week at the peak summer season during the months of July and August.

✈Flydubai to operate double daily flights to Sarajevo in December

Flydubai will operate double daily Dubai-Sarajevo flights from December 24, 2021. to January 08, 2022. due to high demand for travel between two cities for Christmas and New Year holidays.

✈Jazeera Airways increases Kuwait-Sarajevo flights to daily

Jazeera Airways has increased Kuwait-Sarajevo flights to daily until October 02, 2021. From October 03, until the end of October the airline will offer four weekly flights between Kuwait and Sarajevo.

✈Alicante – Sarajevo air link in works!

Alicante-Elche Airport

ENG - Bojan Dozet, Honorary Consul of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Spain for the regions of Valencia, Murcia, and Andalusia in Alicante, met with Laura Navarro, the Director of Alicante Airport. Their meeting explored the possibilities of establishing an air link with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Director Navarro showed readiness and expressed interest in Alicante Airport being the first airport in Spain to offer direct flights to Sarajevo, with the possibility to establish a connection with other cities from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the future. Currently, we do not have direct flights between our countries, and we hope that this is the first step that will ultimately lead to the establishment of a direct air link and the strengthening of economic, cultural, and tourist ties between our countries.
