✈Record August for Sarajevo and Tuzla airports!

Sarajevo Airport recorded its busiest August on record, handling 159.506 passengers, representing an increase of 10,64% (or 15.340 passenger more) compared to the same month last year. During months  of June, July and August airport recorded record number of aircraft operations and travelers using the airport. 411.883 passengers traveled through the airport during those three months. Compared to the June-August period of last year the airport saw increase of 13,66% (or 49.522 passengers more). Year to date airport handled 749.028 passengers, representing an increase of 12,10% (or 80.854 passengers more). Sarajevo Airport is expecting to welcome its millionth passenger during the third week of November.

Tuzla International Airport is breaking all the records this year too. Even though airport’s terminal building is a construction site, the airport managed to record increase of 15,34% in passengers traffic (or 54.307 passengers more). Year to date airport recorded 408.159 passengers.

The reconstruction of the passenger terminal and the construction of an atrium (space to house travel agencies, car rental houses and souvenir shops) has been very slow and should all be completed by April of next year, following several delays due to lack of experience by the construction company to carry out such a large project. Once the project is completed, the airport will see the capacity of the terminal double to 800 passengers per hour, or 700.000 passengers per year.
