✈ Flydubai and Air Arabia to operate up to four daily flights to Sarajevo

 

On selected days during July, Flydubai will operate four daily flights between Dubai and Sarajevo. The demand for Dubai-Sarajevo flights is reaching pre pandemic levels when 3 daily flights were operated during summer season of 2019. Four daily flights Dubai- Sarajevo-Dubai will be operated on July 16, 23 and 24. For most of the summer season the airline will operate three daily flights from Dubai to Sarajevo. From July the airline will deploy Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft on its Sarajevo service.

Air Arabia is increasing its Sharjah-Sarajevo service from July 12, up to two daily . Like Flydubai, Air Arabia will also operate four daily flights from Sharjah to Sarajevo on selected days during July. The airline will operate four daily flights from Sharjah to Sarajevo  on July 16 and 23, three daily flights on July 17and 24 (two from Sharjah and one from Abu Dhabi), two daily flights from July 18 until the end of the month. On selected days in July United Arab Emirates will be connected with Sarajevo with 8 daily flights. Increase of flights is expected to continue during the month of August as well.

✈BHDCA approves operations of Boeing 737MAX aircraft

Bosnia and Herzegovina Directorate of Civil Aviation (BHDCA) has approved operation of Boeing 737-8 MAX and 737-9 MAX types of aircraft in the airspace of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In accordance with Article 73 of the Aviation Law of BIH (Official Gazette of BiH 39/09 and 25/18) and Article 51 of the Rulebook on oversight in civil aviation (Official Gazette of BiH 22/16, 24/18, 55/18 and 5/19), as well as EASA Safety Directive No 2021-01, the Bosnia and Herzegovina Directorate of Civil Aviation has issued a safety directive allowing Boeing 737-8 MAX and Boeing 737-9 MAX aircraft to conduct commercial air transport operations over and above the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Before conducting the first commercial air transport flight by means of such aircraft over and above the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the aircraft operator shall meet certain conditions specified in the safety directive, in accordance with the elements contained in the directives of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

Please note that in March 2019, after EASA and other countries had done so, the BHDCA also passed a safety directive which suspended flight operations of Boeing 737-8 MAX and Boeing 737-9 MAX aircraft over and above the territory of BIH, on the occasion of two aircraft accidents involving these aircraft types.

✈EASA suspends all Boeing 737 Max operations in Europe

Following the tragic accident of Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302 involving a Boeing 737 MAX 8, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is taking every step necessary to ensure the safety of passengers. 

As a precautionary measure, EASA has published today an Airworthiness Directive, effective as of 19:00 UTC, suspending all flight operations of all Boeing Model 737-8 MAX and 737-9 MAX aeroplanes in Europe. In addition EASA has published a Safety Directive, effective as of 19:00 UTC, suspending all commercial flights performed by third-country operators into, within or out of the EU of the above mentioned models.

The accident investigation is led by the Ethiopian Authorities with the support of the National Transportation Safety Board, as the aircraft was designed and built in the United States. EASA has offered their assistance in supporting the accident investigation.

EASA is continuously analysing the data as it becomes available. The accident investigation is currently ongoing, and it is too early to draw any conclusions as to the cause of the accident.

• Dubai – Bahrain eff 21JUL19 2-3 weekly (until 08SEP19)
• Dubai – Bucharest eff 31MAR19 1 daily (until 29MAY19)
• Dubai – Sarajevo eff 01JUUN19 10 weekly (7 weekly from 28JUN19; until 08SEP19)
• Dubai – Zanzibar eff 01JUL19 1 daily (until 30SEP19)
• Dubai – Zanzibar – Dar es Salaam eff 31MAR19 4 weekly (7 weekly from 30JUN19)
