During the last year, Cologne Airport in Germany was
served from Sarajevo and Tuzla. Wizz Air started three weekly Sarajevo-Cologne service
on December 15, 2021. just to discontinue it only ten months after, on October 31,
2022. due to the closure of its Sarajevo base. Wizz Air was directly competing
with Eurowings on Sarajevo-Cologne route, operating with 180-seat Airbus 320 aircraft, while Eurowings was using Airbus 319
aircraft, offering 144 seats.
