Sarajevo Airport expansions
continues as planned. During past two weeks major work was done in the front of the terminal building. The pavement was
completely removed, new drainage and foundations for the columns that would
support the large canopy structure were installed. The work on the new access
road is underway.
In addition to terminal expansion,
the control tower is also expected to be reconstructed. The reconstruction of
the control tower will bring better working conditions for the employees of the
Sarajevo Airport Approach and Airport Control Unit, improving the services provided and the safety
of air traffic. All the work on Sarajevo Airport expansion is on schedule and
is planned to be completed by the end of November of this year. The project is
worth around 31 million Bosnian Marks (16 million Euros), and its being
financed by Sarajevo Airport’s own funds.
