✈ Budapest-Sarajevo flights to be established by the end of the year!


 



Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Mirko Šarović and his delegation are participating in the EXPO fair in Ningbo, China. On the margins of the fair, a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó was held.
The Hungarian Minister pointed out that Hungary supports the European Union and NATO  integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the accession to the World Trade Organization. Mr. Szijjártó has confirmed and welcomed establishment of direct flight Budapest-Sarajevo by the end of this year. Wizz air will be operating the flights starting in November with two weekly flights using Airbus 320 with 180 seats. Hungarian government will subsides flights for next four years. Hungarian government see great importance in the region and having air link will offer businessmen and tourist more freedom and flexibility and very short travel time will make many business and tourism to bloom. 

In the past Sarajevo was connected with Budapest with Malev Hungarian Airlines and Air Bosna. Malev served Sarajevo Airport with one daily flight offering connection to Malev network throughout Europe, United States, Canada and China. Unfortunately both airlines went bankrupt and since  2012 no airline tried to connect two capital cities. Air distance between Budapest and Sarajevo is 408 kilometers, flying time is about 40 minutes.

✈ UAE Ambassador to B&H is anouncing more flights from UAE to B&H


United Arab Emirates ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina in an interview to Bosnian newspaper  Avaz has announced more direct flights from United Arab Emirates to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Newly appointed ambassador of United Arab Emirates to Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Saker Naser Ahmed Abdullah Alraisija presented his credentials to the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Chairman Mr. Bakir Izetbegovic. During the meeting ambassador of United Arab Emirates said that there is a great interest of investors from his country to invest in Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in the fields of tourism, transport, infrastructure, telecommunications, metal and food industry.
- United Arab Emirates has very good relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and its present in Bosnia since 1993, we had a strong role in helping our friends here during aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina - said in a statement Ambassador Alraisija.
Speaking about the priorities of his term of office in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that this will be a further strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.
- My order a priority will be to strengthen investment and increase the number of tourists coming from my country. As you know, a large number of our citizens who come to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and at the same time there is also a lot of investors, so we are delighted that we have developed friendly relations - said the Ambassador.
On the question of how to improve relations and increase the number of tourists and investors from the rich Arab countries, Araisija replies that this has a number of ways.
- One of them is to sign several bilateral agreements between the two countries, such as the one on air communication, which means allow more direct flights. In the following days we will work to establish more direct flights between the United Arab Emirates and Bosnia and Herzegovina , which will increase the number of tourists in your country, and the number of investors - said Araisija.
Planned meetings

The newly appointed ambassador, after the official meeting with Izetbegovic, will hold meetings with Chairman of the Council of Ministers Denis Zvizdic and Foreign Minister Igor Crnadak, with whom will talk about these issues.

Currently two airlines fly between United Arab Emirates and Bosnia and Herzegovina
FlyDubai Dubai (DXB) - Sarajevo (SJJ) 4x per week (two daily flights from June 19 to September 19)
Air Arabia Sharjah (SHJ) - Sarajevo (SJJ) 3x per week (one daily flight from June 20 to October 15)
During months of July, August and September, United Arab Emirates is taking second positions with the most flights and seats offered from Sarajevo International Airport, right after Turkey. With such huge demand for flights from UAE to Sarajevo, in the near future we could see Emirates Airlines starting direct flights from Dubai to Sarajevo!

✈ Sarajevo Int. Airport recorded passangers growth in May



Sarajevo International Airport has recorded 6,98% passengers growth in May (5.595 more passengers comparing to the same month last year). Year to date increase is 5,03%, which should improve dramatically in coming months with large increase of flights by FlyDubai and Air Arabia (Air Arabia did not operate flights to Sarajevo last summer). The airport should finish this year with increase of around 8-10%, or 850.000 passengers.

✈ Turkish Airlines Airbus 330 cargo flights from Tuzla Int. Airport


First Turkish Airlines cargo aircraft has landed at Tuzla International Airport today (June 2, 2016). Airbus 330-243F aircraft (TC-JDR) was greeted at the airport by Tuzla county government officials, Tuzla airport stuff and Turkish ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr.  Cihad Erginay. The Republic of Turkey has allocated a quota of 15,000 tons of fresh meat and meat products to import from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Export of meat from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Turkey has started two years ago, and it was done through airports in Sarajevo and Banja Luka. This year all export will go from Tuzla International Airport. Turkish Airlines will transport about 6.000 tons of fresh meat and meat products from Tuzla International Airport to Istanbul Ataturk airport, using an Airbus 330 freighter aircraft. From June 2, 2016. to November 30, 2016. a total of 90 flights are planed.

✈ Busy summer expected at Sarajevo Int. Airport


The month of August this year is going to be busiest on the record for Sarajevo International Airport. According to the schedule of the airlines operating flights to and from Sarajevo, the airlines will offer over 135.000 seats during the month of August 2016. August is usually the busiest month of the year for Sarajevo Int. Airport. Average cabin load factor during August is reaching high 90%. This year, airport is expecting to handle over 110.000 passengers during August, braking last year’s record when 101.307 passengers used the airport.

✈ My Cargo Boeing 747 to operate cargo flights from Tuzla Int. Airport

“All preconditions for the export of meat and meat products to Turkey from the  Tuzla International Airport are met and exports should officially start in the second week of June. The contract with Turkish cargo airline My Cargo Airline has already been signed and everything is going according to the plan,” said the Director of the Tuzla International Airport, Rifat Karasalihovic, adding:
“We have already signed a contract with the airline My Cargo from Turkey and according to the contract, the export is planned with Boeing 747 aircraft, one of the largest airplanes currently, whose capacity is 110 tons. According to plans, these planes will fly three times a week from the airport. We will see if this will change later.”
Karasalihovic emphasized that everything, both technical and administrative, conditions have been met for one of the most important projects for the region recently. In order for everything to go according to plan, the Government of Tuzla Canton held a special session on Thursday, and made a decision on approval of 250,000 BAM, in order for all preconditions for the start of the project to be met.
My Cargo Airlines has a fleet of eight Boeing 747-400 freighter aircraft. It operates international scheduled and charter air cargo service, as well as wet and dry lease services. Its main base is Istabul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport. The airline's European hub is based at Liege Airport in Belgium.

✈ Qatar Airways has postponed Sarajevo launch


Qatar Airways in last week’s schedule update, has made further frequency changes on a number of destinations, as a result of aircraft shortage and redeployment, including Sarajevo, between June and October 2016. Planned Doha-Sarajevo service launch from 07. September 2016. is postponed to 02. November 2016. Flight schedule and frequencies are still unchanged.

✈ Air Serbia performance at Banja Luka International Airport


Air Serbia is the only airline operating to/from Banja Luka International Airport with five weekly flights from Belgrade using ATR-72 aircraft with 66 seats. Four weekly flights were introduced with the beginning of summer time table on March 27th, additional fifth weekly flight started on April 20th and will last until October 29, when flights will go back to three weekly. With the beginning of Air Serbia’s flights to New York on June 23rd, number of passengers on flight to and from Banja Luka should improve too.
