✈Sarajevo Airport summer timetable 2022

Sarajevo International Airport is ready for record summer months. Many new airlines and destinations will be introduced for the very first time from Bosnian capital city. During the summer months Sarajevo Airport will be served by 23 airlines, with flights to 41 airports in 22 countries on 3 continents (Asia, Africa, and Europe). New airlines starting scheduled flights to Sarajevo this summer are Air Cairo (Hurghada), LOT Polish Airlines (Warsaw) and Royal Jordanian Airlines (Amman). At the beginning of summer timetable Wizz Air introduced flights to London-Luton and Treviso-Venice, bringing the total of newly launched destinations to five. Qatar Airways has announced its return to Sarajevo from June 03, 2022. after a two years break. Doha-Sarajevo flights will be operated 3 times weekly with an Airbus 320 aircraft. A record number of flights will be operated during the months of July and August, with 607.004 seats on offer on 3.814 flights. With the average load factor of 80-85% during July and August, Sarajevo Airport is expected to record the largest number of passengers in the history of the airport (my projection for July is 235.000 and August 223.000 passengers). The average number of flight operations during this time of the year is 70 (35 arrivals and 35 departures).

Charter flights

Sarajevo Airport will be connected with charter flights to popular vacation destinations in Turkey, Egypt, and Tunisia. Antalya will see a significant flight increase when compared to last year. Last year Anadolujet was the only airline operating Antalya-Sarajevo flights with 7 weekly services, while this year three airlines will fly the route, with Turkish Airline’s low lost subsidiary Anadolujet offering  9 weekly flights, followed by Pegasus Airlines and Freebird Airlines each offering two weekly flights. Second destination on Turkish coast Bodrum will see four weekly flights (two by Anadolujet and two by Freebird Airlines. Sarajevo-Monastir charter service will be operated by Nouvelair offering a total of 10 round trip flights.

✈LOT Polish Airlines to launch Sarajevo flights

LOT Polish Airlines will start operations from Warsaw to Sarajevo this coming summer season, marking its entry into Bosnia and Herzegovina. Flights between the two capital cities will be inaugurated on May 30 and operate five times per week with the 82-seat Embraer E175 aircraft.

✈Royal Jordanian Airlines to launch Sarajevo flights

Royal Jordanian Airlines will introduce two weekly Amman-Sarajevo service beginning June 17, 2022. Flights are scheduled to operate on Tuesdays and Fridays with Airbus 320 aircraft offering 150 seats (12 in business and 138 in economy class). Royal Jordanian Airlines is second airline from Onewold Alliance to serve Sarajevo, Qatar Airways is the first airline from Onewold Alliance to serve Sarajevo Airport.

✈Sarajevo Airport terminal construction – photo update

Sarajevo International Airport is in final stage of finishing outside work on the terminal building, while interior is being worked on and should be finished by the end of the year. Terminal building expansion should be completed by June of 2023, with installation of three new jet bridges. Airport has announced the tender for purchase of 3 new air bridges with price tag of 4,6 million Bosnian Marks. Air bridges should be delivered beginning October 2023 (first air bridge will be attached to the new terminal building), while other two air bridges will be delivered in March and June of 2023.

✈Sarajevo Airport statistics for February 2022

Last month Sarajevo Airport recorded 50.475 passengers, representing an increase of 366% when compared to the same month of 2021. The January-February period airport handled 106.996 passengers, representing an increase of 344% when compared to the same time of the last year.

✈ Air Cairo to starts Hurghada-Sarajevo and Banja Luka flights from April

As an extension of the direction of the Ministry of Civil Aviation to expand the network of Egyptian airlines and diversify the sources of tourism movement, Air Cairo has scheduled two new routes from Egypt to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The airline will start to operate flights from Hurghada to Banja Luka and from Hurghada to Sarajevo, both beginning on April 29, 2022.  with two weekly flights on each route. The flights are scheduled to operate as year-round with an Airbus 320 aircraft, offering 174 seats in all economy class.. This is the first time that Bosnia and Herzegovina and Egypt will be connected with regular air service. The introduction of new air service will allow influx of more tourist traffic from Bosnia and Herzegovina to the tourist attractions in  Egypt, especially after allowing Bosnian passport holders and those arriving in tourist groups to obtain a visa to enter Egypt upon arrival at the destination airport.

✈ Qatar Airways to resume Doha-Sarajevo flights in June

Qatar Airways has scheduled Doha-Sarajevo flights relaunch after two years break due to Corona virus pandemic. Qatari national airline will restart Sarajevo flights on June 03, 2022. operating flights three times a week on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. All flights are scheduled to operate with an Airbus A320 aircraft offering 12 seats in business and 132 seats in economy class. Qatar Airways is offering connections to 140 destinations across the World through its hub at Doha International Airport.
