Bosnia and Herzegovina Air Navigation Services Agency (BHANSA) was established in 2009 by adopting the Law on the Air Navigation Services Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a non-profit and financially independent institution with the status of legal entity.

On 01/01/2014 the staff transition process from the BHDCA and entity directorates was completed and BHANSA started operating airport access and air traffic control at the international airports of Sarajevo, Mostar, Banja Luka and Tuzla.

On the night of 12-13 November 2014, BHANSA started providing air navigation services in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the FIR Sarajevo airspace from 9500FT AMSL to FL 325, thus successfully implementing PHASE I of air navigation services up to FL 325 within the declared AoR. At the same time, the work of the Meteorological Service of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH MET) and the Flight Information Service (FIS) began.
On 20/04/2017 BHANSA completed the certification process and received a certificate for the provision of air navigation services by the Directorate of Civil Aviation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
BHANSA, new goal of providing air navigation services in the airspace area above 10,000 meters to FL 660, the entire airspace of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is scheduled for December 05, 2019.

BHANSA's mission is to secure safe, efficient and fast air traffic flow in all phases of flight, by managing air traffic and providing services adapted to the requirements of airspace users.


The vision of BHANSA is to improve the level of its services by joining and playing an active role in the regional Functional Airspace Block of Central Europe (FAB CE), as well as by working on harmonization and standardization of the methods and procedures applied in air traffic management, within the framework of the Single European Sky
