✈Sarajevo Airport Winter 2025/2026

The 2025/26 winter timetable will take effect on Sunday, October 26. 2025, and will run through March 28. 2026. During this period, passengers can fly to 23 destinations in 14 countries on 15 different airlines. From November to March, a total of 5.836 commercial flights will be available, offering 830.738 seats, representing an increase of 10% or 77.868 seats more when compared to the same time of the last year.

Sarajevo Airport will have 250 weekly round-trip flights, with the busiest route being Istanbul-Sarajevo, which features five daily flights to two different Istanbul airports. The top three airlines offering the most seats are Ryanair (179.928 seats), followed by Pegasus Airlines (132.880 seats), and Turkish Airlines (99.660 seats).

The three countries with the largest seat offerings from Sarajevo Airport are Türkiye, with 303.076 seats (36,48% of the total), Germany, with 137.100 seats (16,50%), and Austria, with 72.000 seats (8,66%).

New airlines and routes for this winter season, compared to last winter, include:

• Ryanair: Girona (GRO), Karlsruhe (FKB), Stockholm (ARN), and Weeze (NRN)

Routes that have been discontinued this winter season, compared to last winter, include:

• Aegean Airlines: Skopje (SKP)

• Wizz Air: London (LTN)

✈ Zagreb – Sarajevo air traffic statistics data for 2024

Last year, a total of 56.248 passengers traveled between Zagreb and Sarajevo. Croatia Airlines was the sole airline operating on this route, offering two daily flights with Dash 8-Q400 aircraft. In total, Croatia Airlines operated 1.511 flights (round trip), with an average cabin load factor of 51%, which equates to about 43 passengers per flight. The number of passengers increased by 7,81% or 4.079 passengers more when compared to the year before.

✈ Record April for Sarajevo Airport

Another record-breaking month for Sarajevo International Airport, 185.911 passengers used the airport during the last month, representing an increase of 39% when compared to April of 2024. or 53.079 increase in passengers handled. The number of aircraft operations grew by 24%, while cargo increased by 6%. Year to date airport recorded 519.713 passengers, representing an increase of 150.399 passengers or 41%.

✈ Wizz Air to discuss potential base at Sarajevo Airport

Next week, Wizz Air will hold talks with Sarajevo Airport about the possibility of reopening a base at the airport. The airline plans to base one Airbus A320 aircraft at the airport, with additional details expected to be announced soon.

In the meantime, Wizz Air is expanding its Abu Dhabi-Sarajevo route. Initially, the airline had scheduled 3 to 5 weekly flights between the two cities. However, due to strong demand, Wizz Air is adding 88 additional round-trip flights, increasing seat capacity by 21.032. From April to October, the airline will operate 332 flights on the route, offering a total of 79.348 seats.

With the expansion of flights from Abu Dhabi, Wizz Air has climbed to the fourth position in terms of seat capacity at Sarajevo Airport, with a total of 150.570 seats across three routes: Abu Dhabi, London-Luton, and Rome.

✈ Ryanair to grow Sarajevo frequencies

By the end of this month Ryanair will announce new routes from Sarajevo. The airline will introduce at least three new routes, bringing Sarajevo route network to ten. When compared to the same time of last year, Ryanair will increase its Sarajevo flights as follows:

• Milan Bergamo (BGY) will increase from 2 weekly flights last year, to 5 weekly flights during April and May, and 4 weekly flights for the rest of summer schedule.
• Brussels Charleroi (CRL) will increase from 2 weekly flights last year to 3 weekly flights this year.
• Gothenburg (GOT) will increase from 2 weekly flights last year to 3 weekly flights this year.
• Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) is Ryanair’s new destination from Sarajevo with 2 flights a week.
• Flights to Thessaloniki (SKG) will start a month earlier, beginning June 2nd. 

During the 2024. summer schedule, Ryanair had 13 weekly departures from Sarajevo, while this year the figure will rise to 19 weekly departures.

✈ Ryanair, Sarajevo summer timetable 2025.

Ryanair has published its schedule from Sarajevo International Airport for summer timetable 2025 with Stockholm Arlanda airport as new route. Milan Bergamo and Brussels Charleroi will see increases from two weekly to four weekly flights, Thessaloniki will see the start of summer seasonal flights one month earlier when compared to summer of 2024, while Gothenburg will see an increase from two weekly to three weekly flights during the peak of summer season. At the beginning of next month Ryanair will hold a press conference at Sarajevo Airport with the announcement of three new routes from Sarajevo starting April 2025. Most likely new routes from Sarajevo will be Barcelona or Girona in Spain, Paris Beauvais in France and Karlsruhe/Baden Baden in Germany. With the addition of three new routes Ryanair will operate 26 weekly flights (52 flights both ways), positioning itself as the number one airline with the number of flights and seats offered. During the April-October period Ryanair will have 277.830 seats on offer, with Turkish Airlines taking number two spot with 216.240 seats, followed by Pegasus Airlines with 206.940 seats. During the year 2025, Ryanair plans to transport 350.000 passengers to/from Sarajevo with 17% passengers share (passenger numbers for Sarajevo Airport for the year 2025. are projected at 2.100.000).

✈Sarajevo Airport Winter 2024/2025

The 2024/25 winter timetable enters into force on Sunday, October 27th, 2024. and will run until March 29, 2025. During this time period the passengers will be able to fly to 14 countries to 22 destinations on 16 different airlines.

The new destination this winter season is Rome (FCO), which will be served with 3 weekly flights by Wizz Air. The flights are scheduled to begin on October 29, 2024. and will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with an Airbus 321 aircraft offering 239 seats.

Only one route will be cut during the upcoming winter timetable, Aegean Airlines is discontinuing Skopje-Sarajevo flights from November 28, 2024. just after one year of operations.

Sarajevo Airport will be connected with 118 weekly flights (one way). The most served route is Istanbul-Sarajevo with five daily flights. Three airlines with the most seats on offer are Pegasus Airlines with 128.350 seats, followed by Turkish Airlines with 99.660 seats and Ryanair with 88.830 seats.

Three countries with largest seats offer from Sarajevo Airport are Türkiye with 294.766 seats or 39,15% of all seats, Germany with 94.218 seats or 12,51% of all seats and Austria with 67.200 seats or 8,92% of all seats.

✈ Record September for Sarajevo Airport

Sarajevo International Airport has recorded its busiest September by handling 188.040  passengers, representing an increase of 30,57% or 44.027 passengers more when compared to the same month of last year. Aircraft operations recorded an increase of 21%, while cargo decreased by 32% . Year to date Sarajevo Airport handled 1.439.181 passengers, an increase of 32,94%. During January-September of this year, on average Sarajevo Airport has been handling 5.271 passengers per day.

Yesterday (October 13, 2024) Sarajevo Airport recorded its 1.500.000 passenger, first ever during one year in 70 years of airport's history.

✈Ryanair, Sarajevo–London (STN) route statistics

Ryanair launched London Stansted-Sarajevo flights on 02.04.2024. operating flights three times a week, with Boeing 737-800 aircraft (capacity 189 seats). During the first four months of operations (April-August 2024) the airline transported 17.137 passengers on 104 flights with an average cabin load factor of 87,17%.
