Bosnia and Herzegovina Aviation News has received confirmation from Eurowings about Mostar flight cancellation. After operating flights for just couple of months Eurowings
has suspended all flight sales from/to
Mostar. Initially Eurowings planned to operate flights twice per week from Dusseldorf and Stuttgart with an Airbus 319 aircraft (144 seats) but due to low
sales flights were downgraded to much smaller Dash 8-400 aircraft (76 seats). Flights
from Dusseldorf and Stuttgart to Mostar were introduced in May of this year and operated until second week of October. At the end of
summer season flights from Dusseldorf saw additional reduction and were
operated only once per week. At
the moment Mostar Airport is connected with Zagreb with two weekly flights.
Flights to Zagreb are operated by Croatia Airlines and are heavily subsidized
by the Government of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Due to very low
interest flights to Zagreb see regular cancellations. Politically appointed
management of the airport is proving again how incompetent they are in running
the airport. While all airports in Bosnia and Herzegovina are expecting record 2019, Mostar Airport is facing an uncertain future.
