During the last year Frankfurt Airport has positions itself
as one of the most important destination out of Sarajevo, especially for transfers to the USA and Canada. Turkish Airlines and Istanbul Airport still holds number one position for number of passengers and transfers out of Sarajevo. Lufthansa launched
Frankfurt-Sarajevo flights on May 03, 2021. with five weekly flights, increasing
to seven weekly shortly after that. In April of 2022 Lufthansa increased
flights to 10 weekly, with three weekly flights with overnight stay in
Sarajevo, with early morning departures, offering great connections to Lufthansa’s worldwide network.
Last year Lufthansa operated a total of 781 flights between
Frankfurt and Sarajevo transporting 105.451 passengers, representing an
increase of 54%
During this year majority of Lufthansa flights from Frankfurt to
Sarajevo are operated with Airbus 320neo and Airbus 321 aircraft, representing significant
increase in seats offered. With this increase this years number of passengers
will rise to around 135.000. From summer
season of 2025 Lufthansa will most likely increase Frankfurt-Sarajevo flights
to twice daily.
